Pics in Mid Spring

Mowing the paths always lifts the spirits. The transformation is stunning and the paths grow more enticing. The Large Tibouchina Tree on the left (Tibouchina Mutabilis 'Noelene') is almost in flower in its shades of mauve. A mulberry, pruned for easy access overhangs the path.

The Treeferns always seem to spring up in all the right places.

The Lousiana Iris are popping their blue and mauve flowers everywhere.

Lebanese Cress (in an ornamental tub) has a Spring flush and is quite useful in salads, and sandwiches as well as looking attractive.

The Dwarf White Peaches are loaded with fruit. Their size makes maintenance very easy and the peaches are full size.

The largest Fuyu Persimmon is breaking into flower.

A black Mulberry is fruiting. This is such a useful fruit and well worth netting for protection from birds.

Bottlebrush plants are so productive for so little effort. This one was planted to stabilise a soggy bank.

Nearby a Gold Grumichama has burst into bloom. Its small gold cherry sized fruit are addictive and you can find yourself standing at the tree picking and eating. You won't find them in shops because they bruise easily like many exotic fruits.

This Japanese Plum is covered in fruit.

Although a wild seedling, this White Peach is productive.

A low chill Gulf Gold Japanese Plum loves this climate.

Bronze Sugar Cane makes a bold statement but can also be squeezed to make a drink that is not too sweet so as to be unpalatable and of course the wet cane makes excellent grilling skewers if you can be bothered.
