November, more and more productive

Nectarine
I massacred a Nectarine tree to reduce the size and the few fruit produced this season are now larger.

Cherry of the Rio Grande

Cherry of the Rio Grande

After taking out the top of the tree this Cherry of the Rio Grande tree is producing well. The fruit is not too sweet and too soft to make it into shops so it is a fairly unique eating experience.

Cranberry Hibiscus leaves add a lemon flavour to salads and smoothies.

Ceylon Spinach
The leaves are a useful green and the berries are also edible.

Malabar Chestnut

Illawarra Flame Tree
This ornamental is flowering for the first time. It will eventually be covered in scarlet flowers.

Avocado
This is a seedling Avocado but it might fruit next year because it is growing strongly.

Choko or Chayote
Our Choko leaves are loved by the chickens and are a useful green for us.

Brazil Cherry
Our bushes fruit at slightly different times and extend the season for this delicious fruit best eaten when fully ripe.

Decorative Amaranth
This Amaranth grew from seeds from the USA. It is not a designated leaf Amaranth but it might as well be. This grew from seeds escaping the chook yard.

Jaboticaba
For some reason the birds are slow to denude our small tree this year.

Acerola
The Acerola fruit is some of the tastiest we produce. It is high in Viatamin C.

Pomegranate

A seedling pomegranate contributes red flowers to our floral mix. Perhaps it fruit this year.

Peppermint
The leaves are almost too strong in menthols so use sparingly.

Yellow Yam
If you are searching for a plant for a hanging basket a Yam is a fast grower, and attractive.

Warrigal Greens

Warrigal Greens grows so easily from self seeding that I tend to ignore this useful plant when I go searching for 'greens's. Perhaps because it requires cooking it never makes it into our smoothies.

Leaf Amaranth
These annual plants self seeded and are growing strongly to where they were transplanted.

Midyim Berry
Our Midyim Berries are in flower. Now I need to net them.

This self-seeded passionfruit is climbing a newly leafed pomegranate. Ripe passionfruit soon I hope.  Self-seeded passionfruit seem more robust than my plantings.
